Ben Grimm, better known as the Thing, is a super hero and a member of the Fantastic Four also the New Avengers. He's the main powerhouse of the team.

Biography

Early life

Not much is known about Thing's past, except that he got trapped in the Baxter Building when it was sent into space by Doctor Doom.

Present

The Thing helped the Avengers to fight of the Dark Elves in their ice forms when the Casket of Ancient Winters was opened.

Few weeks later after the Avengers saved Asgard, Thing and Johnny visited the Avengers Mansion for a game of poker where he gets attacked immediately by the Hulk. At the game, he gloated about his win, but got attacked by the Hulk again. As the two are ready to fight, then Hawkeye stood in the way and suddenly Doombots started to attack. Thing teamed-up with Hulk to destroy them. After a while, the Doombots deactivated and the Hulk threw them in the ocean. They left the mansion and went to the Baxter Building where they met Reed and Tony and told them that Susan and Wasp got kidnapped. They decided to invade the castle, but as they arrived, they got overwhelmed by Doom. Doom stopped the fighting and freed both Susan and Wasp.

The Fantastic Four and the Avengers left the castle. In the Avengers headquarters, they discussed the reason for Doom's attack.

New Avengers

He helps Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Spider-Man, War Machine and Wolverine to stop Kang from taking over the world.

Galactus

In the Galactus invasion, Thing was assigned to the Code White (team) team fighting the Water element of Galactus' Heralds (Stardust).

Appearance

Like the Hulk, the Thing has a monstrous humanoid appearance. He is large in size and his body skin is covered with rocks. His eye color is brown and the only clothing he wears has is his Fantastic four's short pants created by Reed with a black belt with a number 4 on the buckle.

Personality

He might seem to be grim (in particular he's known to resent being the only member of the Fantastic Four not to retain their human appearance), but has a joyful personality. He likes to play poker and insult other people or beat them up.

He even likes to say: "It's clobberin' time!" if there's a battle to fight.

Relationships

Hulk

The Thing has a brawl relationship with the Hulk. Everytime when the Hulk gets annoyed or sees him, he immediately rushes towards him and starts a fist fight. Even though they are always fighting, they seem to get along while fighting others, such as shown when they fought together against the Doombots.
