Widow's Sting is the 16th episode of Season One of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes and the overall series.

Summary[]

Hawkeye, Captain America, Black Panther, and S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Bobbi Morse, who is now known as Mockingbird, take on HYDRA in order to find the Black Widow.

Synopsis[]

Hawkeye intercepts a deal between HYDRA and A.I.M.. He is abducted by S.H.I.E.L.D. and is lectured by both Nick Fury and Iron Man. Captain America and Black Panther accompany him to a HYDRA base. Mockingbird also tags along. Hawkeye and Mockingbird are captured by HYDRA and taken to the base.

They are imprisoned and are taken to Baron Strucker. Taking charge, they use this as an opportunity and attack HYDRA. Cap and Panther enter the battle and in the fight, Black Widow attempts to get Baron Strucker out. They are stopped by Hawkeye but still manage to escape. Most of HYDRA is captured, including Madame Hydra. In the end, in the Helicarrier, Nick Fury and Mockingbird look at the body of a Skrull posing as Madame Hydra. And the Secret Invasion soon begins in the future as the next season...

Trivia[]

  • This is the first appearance that has only one supervising director Frank Paur, because Ciro Nieli is retired.
  • This is the first appearance of the icon "Avengers Assemble!" in the end, where we finally have 8 Avengers! It will now be used for the entire episodes.
  • This is the first time Bobbi Morse started later code name, Mockingbird.
  • At the end of the episode, it's revealed that Madame Viper isn't a human: it's a Skrull and it reveals that The Secret Skrull Invasion will begin in Season 2!
  • This is the last episode to be premiered of 2010.
  • Reaper mentions the Kingpin in one scene, meaning he does exist in the show's universe.
  • Fury's metaphor says that when a hydra loses one head of being chopped off, two will grow.
