Synopsis[]

Wasp and Iron Man try to persuade Hank Pym to rejoin the Avengers. However, he's far too obsessed with his experiments and driven by guilt over Ultron. When Wasp and Iron Man leave seconds later, a large explosion rips through Hank’s room, and they find his goggles, broken; Wasp and Iron Man are quick to assume that Hank is dead. After the funeral, in which Tony Stark gives a speech, Captain America attempts to console a grieving Jan. Then, Nick Fury approaches Stark and Janet, and says that the explosion was not an accident, it was murder.

The Avengers believe that the Serpent Society has something to do with it because of Hank’s files. When Black Panther and Cap try to watch their latest safehouse, they find a new vigilante called 'Yellowjacket' who takes a member of Serpent Society down. After battling him, just as Yellowjacket is about to strike them down, Wasp comes in a blasts him. Their battle continues on to the roof top, and Jan is given reason to believe that Hank is Yellowjacket.

Quotes[]

  • Iron Man: Hank, you need help.
  • Yellowjacket: Me?! I just shut down an Asgardian. You said I wasn't tough enough! Looks like I'm tougher than all of you.

Continuity[]

  • Hank Pym is no longer Ant-Man since "To Steal an Ant-Man", as the mantle was given to the new person named Scott Lang.
  • Hank Pym is still not a member since "Ultron-5", he eventually rejoins the team in the end of the episode.

Trivia[]

  • Between the end of "Ultron Unlimited" and the beginning of "Emperor Stark", Vision was still severely damaged after his rebellion against Ultron. However, he was curiously seen at the funeral scene somehow, fully repaired, most likely to be a production inconsistency.
  • Right after JARVIS told Hawkeye and Black Panther that Thor was about to encounter Yellowjacket, two known companies can be seen in the shot directly after, Oscorp with Norman Osborn and Damage Control.
  • Ms. Marvel appears in the intro and in this episode as a cameo, but she doesn't made a major role of this episode.
